The Day of Sport. Maccabi sport events kaleidoscop

On 11-13th September Maccabi activists celebrated the Day of Sport! Despite the quarantine and daily increasing cases of COVID 19 doesn’t prevent Maccabi members from being physically active.

The festive had a big success! It brought a lot of joy and rich on events.
Kyiv
On 13th September competition on beach volleyball among male and female teams took place in Kyiv. The winners of both male and female teams were fighting for the first prize. There were enthusiastic cheers from the fans, loud emotional cues about the behavior on the set, and disappointed outcries in case of the favorite’s team defeat. However, the players’ behavior was contained. The girl, who cheered their favorite teams highly expressed their emotions, yelling “Plaaay!” in attempt to “save” falling ball.1
Dnepr
Maccabi activists in Dnepr hold a couple of events: chess tournament and canoeing.
All chess fanciers could take part in the tournament, whereas quarantine has changed it. All participants used sanitizer and were playing wearing masks. Both, participants and viewers were receptive to essential measures.
The tournament winners became Mikhail Katz, David Levin and Alexandra Smirnova.2

3Zaporozhye

5The Zaporozhye Jewish Sports and Cultural Club “Maccabi” celebrated the Day of Sport by rafting on Dnipro river. The active time-off raised Maccaby spirit and brought new experiences and impressions. Such community events, especially on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, enhance the spirit of friendship and solidarity.4

Kherson
Maccabi activists in Kherson have been starting all summer mornings from morning exercising and good mood.6

Kharkov
On 11th September the Day of Sport was also held in Kharkiv Jewish Lyceum Shaalvim. “Fun starts” took place on the sport ground. Children demonstrated their agility and wit. Teachers participated together with their students.7

Odessa

The traditional football tournament “Friendship” was held in Odessa. The organizers of these competitions became the Odessa Jewish Cultural and Sports Club “MAKKABI”. In the final match FC “Maccabi-Odessa” met with FC “Zhemchuzhina”. The winner of the meeting became FC “Maccabi-Odessa”.8
